A pricket candlestick is a candle holder with a central spike (pricket) used to secure a candle. This was historically used during the 18th century when candles were hand dipped with an irregular base. They stick the candle onto these types of candleholders to secure it. These are still widely used in Buddhist temples. There are special hollowed out candles where the pricket can be inserted, with burning times ranging from 5, 10, 20 and 40 minutes which we also offer. You can use these candles for quick rituals, offerings, or for a practical need to burn charcoal disks or smudge sticks. I find these highly convenient in my practice because we often use candles in our rituals, and the candles we offer burn down to the base without waste and leaving little to no wax residue.
